Actually nowadays there are many vending machines (especially in the residential areas) where the coffee cans are only 100 or even 80 yen

Hm, you know – may be you are right (for the sweetness). Even though it didn’t make me impression when I was drinking it I went specially to check for the energy content and… I couldn’t find it (usually they write it on the can). I think they used a little bit more “chemistry” in this one than usual.

Perhaps they mean it has less sugar or does not taste as sweet as their normal product?

If you hadn’t sampled it and found it to be a drink, it might have turned out to be a coffee scented antiperspirant.
