Minami park – autumn (Port Island, Kobe)

  • November 6, 2009 6:20 am

It is autumn again and the colors are back. Even though we are not leaving on Port Island anymore we spent quite some time walking trough the Minami Port Island Park alleys so this entry is a tribute to it.

First the autumn colors:

The famous ECO bar. Closed now but not forgotten.  (It fought a futile war against the building of mega IKEA shop which cut and destroyed part of the original Minami Park. Even though the cause was lost the gossip goes  IKEA will be closed in the not so far future. The complaining (I heard from a Japanese friend) was that almost everything they sell there is too big for a Japanese apartment. Well done IKEA – marketing northern Europe standards for the Japanese tiny  apartments!)

The propeller fountains (it is a Port island after all:))

The famous Peace from Kobe  stone and the acorns (find the common theme:)):

Just in case you wonder how to reach it – take the Port Liner from Sannomiya station and go out at Shimin-hiroba station – that’s all.

    The island certainly looks peaceful.

    Hello Envoy

Thank you – this is the first ever real comment on my blog. I appreciate it.

I visited your blog – the information there is overwhelming – so much, so versatile and so interesting.
I liked the last entry – Tsundere and Yandere. I am a big fen of Japanese anime. I am considering writing a short article about it (main differences between Japanese and non-Japanese animation (and not only) characters and movie themes/plots).

    Cheers
