HAT Kobe festival – mini steam locomotives and dancing girls

Here comes a new entry of my blog.

Today we visited the HAT Kobe festival. Really quite reach of experiences day. First – I created some time ago a page for the world smallest steam locomotive http://chottomatte.net/blog/the-smallest-ever-functional-steam-locomotive/. Well I was wrong – there is smaller. I really don’t know if Kobe is the capital of the smallest steam locomotives but it seems that they are everywhere (especially on local festivals) and they are continuing to become smaller and smaller. Here is the new discovery ready for action:

And here it is in action:

They used real charcoal pieces to throw in the locomotive’s tiny oven. Here you can see them (next to the bottle with tea – a really nice scale reference):

Just one more picture so you can see better the details:

Actually there was and a second steam locomotive with the same size as the one on the picture above. I took more pictures and movies so if you are a big fen of this type of engines just reply and I eventually can send them to you or post them here.

Well finally what is a festival without music and dances. Toward the end of the day we observed may be one the coolest urban dances performance by three girls who just appeared from nowhere and started dancing in the midle of the local amphitheater:

Cool – isn’t it?

I took and some action shots of the girls but may be  I will upload them some other time.

Well this is for now – tomorrow – Okinawa.
