Japan midsummer snow

What is the best way for a shopping mall to attract visitors during the hot summer days?

A snow storm of course!

The action took place in Nishinomiya Gardens (西宮ガーデンズ) – one of the biggest (and newest) shopping malls in Japan. It is situated between the cities of Kobe and Osaka and if you decide to visit it just take Hankyu railway (Nishinimiya Kiatguchi – 西宮北口駅 station).

It is famous for its roof fountain gardens  where kids (and adults) can play without limit. Here is a picture from one of the more conventional appearances of the garden:

But let’s go back to the snow story.

All the magic behind the snow storm was coming from here (the SNO-LA company machine):

Big ice blocks were loaded, chopped and spread over the happy crowd:

Here is a movie from the real action:

Needless to say that the presence of such significant amount of frozen water inspired countless masters of the ice/snow sculptures.

The tall tower/pine tree:

And the igloo composition:

In conclusion – if you happened to be in the vicinity of Nishinomiya during the hot and humid Japanese summer days – don’t forget to check the event program of Nishinomiya gardens shopping mall. They usually have a surprise or two for you hidden up their sleeves :)
