Beer Megacans from Asahi and Kirin
In a bid to win even more customers Asahi and Kirin are stepping up in their competition.
First Asahi released its 1000 ml can:
The response from Kirin was swift – 1520 ml can!
The Kirin can is actually so big that apparently the producer decided that it is too dangerous to ship it under pressure. On the top of the can there isĀ a small tank attached containing the gas under pressure. Apparently you can not drink the Kirin megacan beer unless you have the special device necessary to dispense the gas into it (unless you are fan of the bubble-less beer of course).
It is interesting to notice that both pictures are from 2 weeks ago. Today I could find only the Asahi one. Either the Kirin megacan is really a big “splash” in the Japanese beer market or asking the customers to add the bubble to the beer on their own was not such a good idea.
So – Minasan Kampai!
